Tanjila graduated with her Master Degree in Christian Ministry with a focus in biblical counseling (May 2018). She is currently employed with Saint Louis Public Schools as the Full Service School Coordinator for Vashon High School. She received the 2015 American Red Cross' Blood Services Hero Award for her service and dedication to the sickle cell community in her role as the Youth and Family Centers Sickle Cell Disease Education and Awareness Program Director. Mrs. Bolden Myers presented the “Living Well with Sickle Cell Workshop at the 2015 8th Annual African American Nursing History Conference and presented the “Know Your Trait Workshop” to the Saint Louis Public School Nurses in February 2015. She believes the situations we are faced with on a day to day basis serve to build our character. She feels that these experiences teach us how to accept a hand up and empower us against hand outs. Tanjila not only serves the sickle cell community, she is a Sickle Cell Anemia Survivor, living well with sickle cell!
